Affirmed.

So yesterday was one of those moments in life I will remember as being a defining moment.

I can’t say much about the experience of meeting Seth and the rest of those who were invited to be a part of his alternative MBA program… we had to sign something saying we wouldn’t!

But what I will say is that I have never felt so affirmed or believed in… I’ve never felt more excited about what I’m doing, why I’m doing it, and how I want to make an impact in the world.

I met some of the most incredible people yesterday, in addition to Seth, and to hear their stories, their passion and why they do what they do was truly inspiring.

And to have been selected as one of 25 people to interview (out of 300+ that applied!), was a huge honor and something I never dreamed I would have been able to be a part of.

I heard from Seth this morning and I didn’t make the cut.

Honestly, I’m a bit relieved. While it would have been an incredible experience, I know that God is in control, and that He has me exactly where He wants me right now. I’m already a part of some great things right now at Park… and to have to put my life on hold, relocate to New York City for six months, and all of the logistics involved in that would have been complicated.

I know that God orchestrated this and the connections I’ve made through this experience will come in handy down the road! This is all a part of something bigger God is doing in my life.

Thank you all so much for your encouragement and your prayers… and don’t worry, I’m not upset or let down, I’m excited!

I’m excited for what God has ahead for me, and I’m excited for the people that made the cut. I’m telling you guys, these people are going to do some awesome things!

I’ve got some big things on the horizon… like a BOOK… and I know there’s much more ahead.

Thanks again, to all of you, my faithful blogging friends. You guys rock!

So cool that you were able to be a part of it. And it’s always encouraging to see the way God is working in your life.
He’s doing great things through you!

    Tim,
Indeed, it was a great experience. I really enjoyed meeting you and everyone else there. I got the same e-mail this morning and feel very similar. Good luck with your work at Park, your book, and anything else you aspire to do. Keep in touch. God bless.
    Cheers,
    Chris

I am actually relieved. You are one of the reasons Park is such a good fit for me. The office has not been the same this week without you.

Love you Tim. I’m bummed, but if you’re ok about it then I’m ok. Screw college…it’s gotten more people in debt who have done WAY LESS good then you have in your short amount of time here on earth. The Lord will use a willing heart no matter what educational backgrounds they have. You’re right on point and everyone knows it! Don’t ever be ashamed about who you are and what you do. You’re leading the way, and will continue to do so with all of the “upcoming” stuff we can’t talk about yet! Go Tim!!!!!

What an unbelievable experience for you!!! I know you can’t talk about the content of the meeting, but you should sometime expand further on why you felt so affirmed. I am thinking that as church leaders we should be doing the same thing to our volunteers and our core people. I am interested in hearing what he did to make you feel so affirmed.
I am jealous in the fact that you were able to meet him and have an amazing experience, but am grateful that you are still working with the church and leading us in innovation.

I am glad you had the opportunity to meet Seth and the others and to experience that level of affirmation. It’s one thing to be affirmed by the people you work with and for. It is a whole other thing to be recognized for your work on a larger scale. In the meantime, your local cheerleading squad is glad you are still on our team.
