I Used to Suck at Church Communications

I used to suck at church communications. It’s true.

So when I first heard about Church Marketing Sucks I wasn’t sure what to think.

As a guy who was new to church communications I felt like I had discovered a gold mine of ideas, thoughts, and resources to help me out on my journey of helping my church communicate/market with excellence.

The Center for Church Communication is behind Church Marketing Sucks and are creators of the Church Marketing Lab, a Flickr group that serves as a place for people to post projects they are working on and receive feedback from their peers. I tapped into the CFCC Labs for years and would have been lost without it.

I’d like to think that I’m a product of the Center for Church Communication… the insight I gained and community of fellow church designers and communicators helped me do what I do better, and set me on the path to where I am today. I don’t suck anymore, but I still have a lot to learn!

When Cynthia Ware invited me to be one of the Regional Coordinators for the Center for Church Communication I was pretty floored. I’m stoked to join the ranks of some pretty amazing people doing some very significant things. The whole roster includes:

The goal of having Regional Coordinators is to provide a local resource for other church communicators to get ideas, input, and advice, as well as  to learn from all of you about what’s working for you!

Sooo… if you live near the Chicago area [or the Midwest for that matter], I’m your guy!

I’d love to connect with you and possibly do a meet-up in Chicago sometime soon.

Let me know you’re out there… fill out this form or leave a comment below and I’ll be in contact!

Tim…we certainly know each other but I wanted to let you know that whatever I can do to help you rally folks in the St. Louis area, I'm all in (for CFCC meet-up's, Cultivate 2010, or whatever). I've learned a lot from you (and still have a lot more to learn) so I'd love to help you in giving back.
